About Us
It is our desire to create an environment that allows room for the independent journey while providing a community that collectively and respectfully celebrates the process of becoming a martial artist.
Our purpose is to attract like-minded people interested in the study of martial arts - its history, techniques, and the exchanging of ideas across all disciplines.
At MAII we invite everyone to participate enthusiastically and bring positive energy to the dojo. We foster long term, healthy, and positive relationships amongst all our members and seek out affiliations with other independent minded dojos across the country. Cultural exchange between dojos positively impacts our members understanding of techniques and ideas and fosters a greater understanding of the world of martial arts.
Headquartered in Havertown, PA., Martial Arts International Institute is open for everyone, seven years and older. Head Instructor and founder - Sensei Taka Maeshima, has over 25 years teaching experience and enjoys teaching children as much as he enjoys the interaction with our adult members. Whoever wants to learn Karate and to practice discipline is welcome!
